Police officer killed, soldier wounded in northern Tunisia

A police officer died and a soldier was wounded on
Monday morning in two separate stabbings by one attacker in northern Tunisia.
Tunisian Defense Ministry Spokesman Mohamed Zekri
said that a stranger, armed with a sharp object, attacked a soldier in Bizerte
province this morning who was on his way to his workplace in the vicinity of a
bus station in Bizerte, causing him injured.
"The attacker then headed to the Court of
Appeal in the same region and stabbed a policeman to death," added the
spokesman.
The injured soldier was taken to Bizerte military
hospital for treatment and he is "in a stable condition and his injuries
are not serious," Zekri said.
Police chased down the attacker and arrested him
immediately.
"According to preliminary investigations, the
attacker would be a radical religious element," said the spokesman, adding
that investigations are on-going to determine the real causes of this attack.
