Sudan, US mull removing Khartoum from State Sponsors of Terrorism List

Sudanese Foreign Minister Asmaa Mohamed
Abdallah discussed with the newly-appointed US charge d'affaires accelerating
removing Sudan from the State Sponsors of Terrorism List.
Abdallah stressed the importance of rwomving
Sudan from the list as soon as possible to normalize Khartoum ties with the
international financial institutions; a matter which empowers the transitional
government to address the economic challenges.
The US diplomat, for his part, described the
developments in Sudan as historical and positive, saying there is a great
interest from Washington and the international actors to help Sudan.
He added that removing Sudan from the list is
a joint goal.
