Kurdish leader condemns Turkey's invasion of Syria

Sihanouk Dibo, the co-chairman of the Syria Democratic Council, the political wing of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), has condemned the Turkish invasion of northeastern Syria.
In
statements on Thursday to the Egyptian Center for Strategic Studies and
Thought, Dibo described the Turkish military offensive into northern Syria as a
"brutal aggression", that constitutes a clear violation of
international laws.
He
added that the Turkish offensive has left civilian casualties and displaced
thousands.
On
Wednesday, Turkey launched a wide-scale military operation against the
Kurdish-held areas in northeastern Syria.
President
Donald Trump said the US "does not endorse" Turkey's assault on Syria
and has called the operation "a bad idea".
Several
European countries demanded Ankara to stop its military operation in Syria.
The
Arab League said it will hold an emergency meeting on Saturday to discuss the
Turkish attack on Syria.
