Haftar: Future of Libya depends on liberating Tripoli
General Commander of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces
Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar on Tuesday said that the future of Libya depends
on liberating the capital Tripoli.
In statements to the Russian news agency Sputnik, he
added that the Libyan army is working on defending the capital not attacking
it.
The Libyan capital is suffering from an
unprecedented security situation while its residents are suffering from the
repression and aggression of the armed militia, he pointed out.
Basic elements of life are lacking in the city, he
said, adding that services are also deteriorating.
The spread of terrorist cells in the city will
remain an urgent issue that needs to be completely settled, he said adding that
there is a comprehensive security plan addressing all these issues after
liberating the city.
