Members of the Iran-backed Houthi militia broke Thursday into food warehouses of the World Food Program in the western Yemeni port city of al-Hodeidah, local sources said.

The warehouses, the sources added, contained food aid the program planned to distribute to the residents of the city.

They said the warehouses were located in an area known to locals as Kilo 7, in the eastern part of al-Hodeidah.

The local sources noted that the militiamen kidnapped two men who worked at the warehouses and drove them to an unknown place.

This was not the first time the Houthis attacked depots of the World Food Program.

In late March, they torched down depots containing foodstuffs and humanitarian aid in the same port city.

This deprived the city's more than 2 million residents of much-needed aid and food.
