Lavrov: Russia supports Kuridsh-Syrian dialogue over northeastern Syria

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov asserted that
Russia strongly advocates resolving the current situation in northeastern Syria
through dialogue between Damascus and the Kurdish forces, Spuntnik News Agency
reported.
In statements on Monday, Lavrov said Russia supports
the Turkish-Syrian dialogue and stands for practical cooperation between the
countries on the basis of the 1998 Adana Agreement.
He also emphasized that Russia has always recognized
Turkey’s legitimate interests in the security of its borders. "At the same
time, we stand for practical cooperation between Damascus and Ankara on the
basis of the 1998 Adana Agreement. We absolutely clearly see the possibilities
for this." he added.
The two countries’ military officials should
determine the specific aspects of their interaction on the ground, the Russian
diplomat said, adding that Russia, for its part, is ready to assist them in
such a dialogue.
