Washington to start investigation of Turkish war crimes in northern Syria

Washington has called for an investigation into
possible war crimes during the Turkish offensive in northern Syria, the US
envoy to NATO said on Wednesday.
It also called on European countries to recapture
their nationals who fought with ISIS in Syria.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said
Wednesday that a US-brokered ceasefire in northeastern Syria was the basis for
a political solution to the conflict.
Stoltenberg declined to comment on the agreement
between Russia and Turkey in Sochi, noting that it was too early to judge its
results.
"We have seen that it is possible to move
towards a political solution," he told a news conference. "The first
condition is to stop the fighting," he said.
