OSCE discusses curbing hatred discourse, protecting freedom of expression

The Organization for Security and Co-operation in
Europe (OSCE) hosted on Monday a conference on means of curbing hatred,
extremism and misleading ideas on the internet while protecting freedom of
expression.
International experts and leaderships of civil society
organizations attended the event.
Addressing the conference's opening session, OSCE
representative Harlem Désir underlined the importance of protecting freedom of
expression and at the same time banning manipulation of modern technology and
social media to spread hatred and foment political and religious conflicts.
