Kemet Boutros Ghali Foundation greets Ghada Wali on prestigious UN post

Kemet Boutros-Ghali Foundation for Peace and
Knowledge said the appointment of Social Solidarity Minister Ghada Wali as the
Executive Director of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) is an
acknowledgement of Egypt's effective role on the world stage and shows
appreciation of her efforts in favor of human rights.
In a statement on Sunday, Mamdouh Abbas, the
foundation's president, pointed out that Wali's selection for such prestigious
post is well deserved.
On Thursday, United Nations Secretary‑General António Guterres announced the appointment of Wali as
the next Executive Director of the UNODC. She will also serve as
Director-General of the United Nations Office in Vienna (UNOV).
