Libyan army liberates Sirte from terrorists

The Libyan National Army (LNA) has fully liberated
the city of Sirte in less than three hours from terrorists, LNA Spokesman Ahmed
Mismari said on Monday.
LNA forces carried out a preemptive attack against
the terrorist groups, who were targeting oil fields, the spokesman added during
a press conference.
Meanwhile, army forces have also regained control of
Ghardabiya Airbase near the coastal city, head of the LNA mobilization
department Khaled al-Mahjoub said during an interview with Sky News channel.
Naval special forces have also restored control of
the city's seaport, he added.
The liberation of Sirte was a strictly confidential
mission, Mismari said during the presser.
It started with surprise airstrikes on terrorist
hideouts in the city and around its seaport, Mismari noted.
He added that LNA forces are still hunting for the
terrorists fleeing to nearby cities.
