Osama bin Laden’s mother: My son brainwashed by Muslim Brotherhood
CAIRO - 4 August 2018: In an
exclusive interview with the Guardian, Alia Ghanem, the mother of former
al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, revealed that the bloody international
organization of the Muslim brotherhood have made a brainwashing to her son, who
later became a terrorist.
“My life was very difficult because he was so far away from me,” she
said in the interview, adding “he was a very good kid and he loved me so much.”
Talking about his childhood, Ghanem said that Osama was a very shy boy,
but his character turned strong at 20s, when his ideology started deviate
towards the extremism during his academic studies. She added that Osama - at
that age - met with Azzam Al-Ahman, the Muslim Brotherhood member whom was
exiled outside Saudi Arabia and later became the “spiritual advisor” to her
son.
The mother confirmed that her son was a good person before the
Brotherhood members brainwashing him. “I would always tell him to stay away
from them, and he would never admit to me what he was doing, because he loved
me so much,” she continued.
In his talking with the newspaper, Osama bin Laden’s brother – Hassan-
said that Osama travelled to Afghanistan in the 1980s to fight the Russian
occupation. At the beginning, his family was proud of him and the Saudi
government – at that time- was dealing in respected and noble way. However,
they later found their son “the Jihadi Osama.”
“I am very proud of him in the sense that he was my oldest brother […]
He taught me a lot. But I don’t think I’m very proud of him as a man,” Hassan
said.
Ghanem talked again on her son’s childhood, saying “he was very
straight. Very good at school. He really liked to study. He spent all his money
on Afghanistan – he would sneak off under the guise of family business.”
In response to a question whether she had expected that her son would
become a terrorist, Ghanem said “It never crossed my mind […] we were extremely
upset. I did not want any of this to happen.”
Osama bin Laden’s family said that he had seen their son for the last
time in Afghanistan in 1999, when they visited him twice in his haven outside
Kandahar.
“It was a place near the airport that they had captured from the
Russians,” the mother said, adding “he (her son) was very happy to receive us.
He was showing us around every day we were there.” Ghanem continued that they
did not know Osama when he turned to terrorism, saying “I was shocked.”
The mother also revealed that her son had “deliberately” chosen Saudi
citizens to carry out the 9/11 plot, as he was convinced that the involvement
of Saudi citizens would make the west hostile towards his country. “He did indeed succeed in inciting a war, but
not the one he expected,” Ghanem said.
