Iraqi president meets delegations of 2 Kurdish parties

Iraqi President Fuad Masum held on Sunday a meeting
with delegations of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and Kurdistan Democratic
Party to discuss the formation of the biggest parliamentary bloc.
In a statement, the Iraqi presidency said that the
meeting stressed the importance of the convocation of the newly-elected
parliament on the time specified by the Iraqi constitution, a move which precedes
the formation of the new government.
The meeting also probed the latest developments in
the Kurdistan region and efforts exerted to maintain aspects of cooperation
among the political parties in Iraq.
Iraq witnessed parliamentary election nationwide on
May 12.
