Erdogan using all tough means to suppress opposition
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan does his best to silence all opposition voices to ensure his continued presence in power.
Erodgan uses
multiple methods to suppress the opposition. These methods include the
detention of opposition figures, threatening them with death and shaming them.
The affiliates
of Erdogan's ruling Justice and Development Party also scandalize opposition
figures by publishing obscene videos of them.
Over 500,000
opposition figures and activists were thrown in Turkish jails in the past few
years, according to the Turkish Minister of the Interior.
These people
were imprisoned on charges of participating in the presumed 2016 coup.
The Turkish
government also spies on opposition figures around the world, using Turkish
embassies and consulates to carry out the job in this regard, in what amounts
to a blatant violation of all international norms.
Erdogan's backers also
keep threatening opposition figures with death. The party members recently
threatened a member of the Republican People's Party, the main
opposition party in Turkey, publicly with death by posting the threat on his
Twitter account.
A makeup artist, who
backs Erdogan and his party, also threatened the opposition with death live on
TV. The woman said her family member were ready to kill 50 opposition figures
to defend the Erdogan government.
A pro Erdogan
journalist also threatened Chairman of the Republican People's Party Kemal
Kılıçdaroğlu and other opposition figures with death.
He said these
opposition figures would not be able to defend their wives and children if they
succeeded in deposing Erdogan.
A drop of blood from
the Turkish leader, he said, is equal to millions of drops of blood from the
opposition.
