UAE helping the world get over Covid-19
The United Arab
Emirates has demonstrated exceptional abilities in dealing with Covid-19 since
the emergence of the disease.
The hard work
done by the UAE, both internally and externally, has turned into a model for
other states and a good example of giving to others.
The UAE backed
the health sector in a number of other countries with the aim of compensating
shortages in medical supplies and equipment. It built new health facilities and
maintained some of the hospitals in these countries.
Abu Dhabi was
keen on making its presence felt in the international prevention field by
providing countries in need with whatever equipment and supplies required for
their response to the new disease.
This brought it
praise from all international organizations, including the United Nations and
its affiliate bodies.
The UAE sends
aid to a new country with every passing day. So far, over 674 tons of medical
supplies went out of the UAE and into more than 58 other countries. These
supplies benefited hundreds of thousands of health service workers in these
countries.
Vital
aid
A report by the
UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has thrown light
on UAE support to other countries.
The report details
the aid the UAE sent to these countries as well as the work done by UAE
embassies and consulates in this regard.
The report also
throws light on the contribution presented by the UAE in helping the nationals
of other Arab countries return to their countries from the Chinese city of
Wuhan, the epicenter of the Covid-19 outbreak.
UAE medical aid
to other countries included much-needed equipment including gloves, facemasks,
ventilators and examination tools.
International
praise
A large number
of international organizations praised UAE leaders for sending by other
countries at this testing time.
Executive
Director of the World Food Program, David Beasley, praised UAE Crown Prince
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed for offering support to his organization.
He said Sheikh
Mohamed agreed to help the World Food Program when he called him to ask him to
offer help.
