Turkey came recently under fire by the US Department of State for supplying warring parties in Libya with arms.
The Department of State asked Ankara to suspend its interference in Libyan affairs.
The regional policies of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan have brought him nothing but criticism from regional states.
The same policies are making Turkey prone to sanctions from different international parties, specifically because of its violations of international law and interference in the affairs of Libya.
Erdoğan is a principal sponsor of terrorist militias in Libya. He keeps supplying these militias with arms, which violates an arms embargo imposed on Libya by the United Nations. Turkish arms shipments to Libya do nothing but stoke tensions in this North African state and threaten the security of neighboring countries.
On June 24, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo called on Turkey to stop supplying Libya's terrorist militias with arms.
He added at a press briefing in Washington that the US is mainly interested in implementing a ceasefire in Libya, prevent the entry of arms into it and prevent foreign interference in the country's affairs.
He added that Washington is also interested in resuming negotiations between Libya's warring parties with participation from Libya's European partners.
Turkish violations
Turkey plays an important role in the transfer of terrorists to other countries, according to a report by the US Department of State.
The report described Turkey as a "transit country" for terrorists who want to cross into Syria and Iraq to join terrorist organizations operating in the two countries.
It also shed light on human rights violations in Turkey, including the detention of all affiliates of the Kurdistan Workers Party.
Turkish authorities arrest and put in jail Turkish politicians and foreigners living in Turkey on terrorism-related charges, the report said.
