Qatar conceding support to terrorism in Libya
Qatar has been the main backer of agreements between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the prime minister of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA) Fayez al-Sarraj.
However, the same agreements have
caused massive devastation in Libya and given foreign mercenaries the
opportunity to do whatever they want in the North African state.
Supporting terrorism
Qatar continues to provide Erdoğan with an endless supply of money so
that he can implement his agenda in Libya.
The Turkish president wants to spread
his influence in the restive state and revive the Ottoman caliphate, all with
the aim of usurping the wealth of this state.
Visit to Doha
Erdoğan's latest visit to Doha drew mixed
reactions.
Qatari assistant foreign minister
Lolowah al-Khater referred to the presence of identical positions on regional
issues in both Doha and Ankara.
She told the Qatari news channel,
al-Jazeera, that both capitals back the GNA.
"They support the GNA on the road
to finding a political settlement to the conflict in Libya," al-Khater
said. "They want to serve the interests of the Libyan people."
Nevertheless, al-Khater noted that both
Doha and Ankara want the GNA to impose its control on all Libyan territories.
She said Erdoğan's latest visit to Doha came within
the framework of strong relations between Qatar and Turkey.
She added that both countries also
discussed means of increasing political and economic cooperation.
Qatari Foreign Minister Mohamed bin
Abdelrahman al-Thani praised strategic relations between his country and
Turkey.
"Strategic relations between
Turkey and Qatar become stronger day after day," Abdelrahman wrote on
twitter on July 3.
