Iraq: 12 Terrorists Arrested In Nineveh
The Iraqi Intelligence Service (IIS) said Saturday that 12 terrorists were arrested in separate regions of Nineveh governorate.
The militants were working for the
so-called Diwan Al-Jund, Tigris district, General Camps, and the Military Diwan.
They were also wanted per the provisions of Article 4 on terrorism.
"The terrorists confessed to participating in
several terrorist operations against the security forces and citizens, as well
as urged citizens to join ISIS gangs under threat,” a statement by the IIS read.
"Legal measures were taken against them,"
the statement added.
In 2017, Iraq declared final
victory over ISIS after Iraqi forces drove its last remnants from the country,
three years after the militant group captured about a third of Iraq’s territory.
