New proposal to dry up the sources of financing terrorism

French political thinker: Hakim al-Qarawi submitted
a proposal to President Emmanuel Macaron targeted to make a plan for the
management and legalization of the affairs of Islamic Associations in France.
The French president is expected to announce next
autumn in an official speech on the new vision of Islam in France.
Hakim al-Qarawi confirmed to Le Monde newspaper that
the proposal offered method to monitor the funds of the institutions and
associations representing Islam in the country. He also proposed the
establishment of an Islamic Society in France, headed and managed by French Muslim
citizen, to raise funds necessary for employment of imams, to
build and renovate mosques and to work on studies and activities to combat
Islamophobia and anti-Semitism.
This initiative is part of the current trend to
control the funds generated by work in the Islamic activity circles. Al-Qarawi
said that “This initiative is part of the current trend to control the funds
generated by work in the Islamic activity circles”.
The aim of this proposal is to enable the Islamic
Society in France to contain all these funds which run the circles of Islamic
activity in a way that allows it to monitor the sources and how these funds are
traded. Hakim Al-Qarawi wrote a detailed report confirming that the networks of
financing Islamist associations in France are vague and unknown.
At the end of his remarks, Al-Qarawi focused its
proposal on the administrative body of the association, which will include five
permanent executive members and a board of important personalities with a good
reputation.
