Unprecedented measures in France on fighting terrorism

Exclusive for The REFERENCE: After the visit of the
French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe to the General Directorate of Homeland
Security, the French Internal Intelligence, he announced a package of legal and
administrative measures to facility fight terrorism.
First, Philippe uncovered establishing of a new
public prosecution specialized in these kinds of crimes, with about 30
investigating judges, as well as law-makers, intelligence and investigative
police.
“The new prosecution would also investigate in the crimes
of war and crimes against humanity” the French PM added that it will also be in
charge of any crimes that undermine the security of France.
A Special body to enforce the laws will be set up for
terrorism crimes. These new measures include setting up a new body to not only monitor
convicted terrorists, but also all dubious radical Islamists, as a preventive
measure.
These measures in such an old democracy as France,
and the announcement from the General Directorate of Internal Intelligence one
day before the French Revolution day bear a lot of indications on combating
terrorism.
The President is serious in addressing the issues of
terrorism with the legal, judicial, procedural and preventive aspects.
