Abdel Rahim Ali emphasized that Egypt remains the primary actor addressing the Gaza crisis, warning that the Palestinian issue risks being sidelined amid broader geopolitical shifts. He argued that Cairo is working intensively to prevent escalation and restore diplomatic balance.

Ali said Egypt is “almost alone” in actively addressing the Gaza crisis, citing diplomatic efforts led by Egyptian officials to engage with international partners, including the United States.

He argued that neglecting the Palestinian issue in favor of other priorities represents a “serious failure” in regional political strategy.

Ali linked the Gaza crisis to broader Middle East tensions, noting that developments in Gaza have been influenced by overlapping regional agendas, including US-Iran relations and Israeli military strategy.

He suggested that ignoring Gaza undermines long-term regional security and fuels instability, particularly as humanitarian conditions worsen.

The Gaza Strip has faced repeated conflicts and humanitarian crises, often becoming a focal point in broader geopolitical disputes. Egypt has historically played a mediating role in ceasefire negotiations and humanitarian coordination.

Ali warned that sidelining the Gaza crisis could lead to a permanent weakening of the Palestinian cause. He stressed the need to reintegrate Palestine into Arab political priorities and link post-war arrangements to a clear political resolution.
