Abdel Rahim Ali argued that recent developments highlight the urgent need to strengthen regional security through Arab self-reliance, particularly in defense capabilities.

Ali said the confrontation with Iran demonstrated that external alliances alone cannot guarantee regional security. He emphasized that Gulf states successfully intercepted Iranian missiles due to their own military capabilities and trained personnel.

He added that reliance on foreign military bases proved insufficient in preventing attacks.

Ali suggested that intelligence reports and battlefield outcomes indicate a shift toward self-sufficiency in defense strategy. He called for joint Arab defense initiatives involving countries such as Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.

He also highlighted the importance of cyber and space capabilities in modern warfare.

Regional security frameworks in the Middle East have historically depended on alliances with global powers, particularly the United States. However, recent conflicts have exposed limitations in these arrangements.

Ali concluded that sustainable regional security requires building integrated defense systems and reducing dependence on external actors, marking a potential shift in long-term strategic planning.
